Relocation – Shed Building Fund Appeal
The Marketeers Carnival club has recently been giving notice of
Intent by the Landlord of The Halfway Inn, for us to vacate the land
we have used since 1973.
Therefore for the first time in the clubs history we have
no-where to build a cart this year.
If you are able to assist us in anyway,
Be it, a temporary loan of land to build on, the supply of manual labour
Or perhaps a small cash donation or an interest free loan
(Loans are re-payable within 5 years starting October 2011,
final payment Oct 2016)
This would help to enable us to erect a new shed whilst still taking part in
Bridgwater Carnival this year. We would be extremely grateful.
At the moment we have three schemes running
A Donate to the club a value of your choice
B lend the club an interest free loan, which will be repaid in five
yearly installments these being the 1st of October 2011
until the 1st of October 2015 when the monies will have been
paid back in full
C Lend the club an interest free loan that will be
re-payable in full by the 1st of October 2019.
We are also investigating selling bricks to the new construction of the shed,
that will forever bare the name of the persons that purchased the bricks.
Yours in Carnival

“Hi first can we say a big Thank-you to the person who donated to our paypal account in 2008 we raised a grand total of £1
We hope that we can do better in 2009 so we thought we would give you an incentive to donate. Our great plan is, that If we have not raised £100 by carnival this year, this web site will be replaced by a video of the Marketeers legendry bus chaser Kevin ‘Grover’ Grover Dancing naked and if you thought that was bad enough he will be singing, please spare us from a fate like this and help to build another great year for Marketeers CC by clicking on the paypal link and donating whatever you can.
Remember, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, the grand total is currently £1.00 so please get donating”

Old Folks Show Review
Well we had an act for the males with Bet's People, now it was time for an act for the females, yes it's Marketeers up
next!!
MARKETEERS CC - 'Chippendales and Bunny Girls'.
Malcolm introduced Marketeers to the town hall crowd by saying that the club had said that if they applaud loud
enough at the end there will be a special treat. Following last year's 'Babies' the Marketeers lads almost looked
overdressed this year - at least to begin with, the words wardrobe malfunction come to mind. Following a big build up
from Chris and Malcolm, the Chippendales section took to the stage first and were then followed by the Bunny Girls,
who under the make up I suspect were the older members of the club. This was as we all expected, highly hilarious
knock about fun, the Marketeers lads letting themselves go completely as they hammed it up and in doing so provided
non-stop laughs for the audience. 'Strip' songs for Marketeers included, 'Who Let The Dogs Out', 'It's Raining Men',
'Girls, Girls, Girls', 'Hey Big Suspender' (a song which I think in Carnival terms will always be associated with
Newmarket CC), 'Bread And Butter' (which was a Top 20 hit in 1964 for American vocal group, The Newbeats), 'Hot
Stuff from The Full Monty and to which got the audience clapping and 'Sex Bomb'. To be serious I think one or two in
the audience were a bit shocked, but that did not prevent Marketeers having the biggest round of applause of the
night, an set that was certainly up to the previous standard delivered by this club for this event. Interesting on the last
night to see how many females crowded into the wings to watch this particular act, the wings being empty as soon as
Marketers left the town hall!!
