- AGM – The Annual General meeting of The Marketeers Carnival Club is taking place Monday 19th January at The Mansion House 7.30pm Start. Please make the effort to attend, apologies to Windsor or Paul Brazewell.
- Xmas Cabaret – The Marketeers Christmas Cabaret (Sat 13th Dec) is a sell out; therefore we will be looking for extra help from all aspects of the club on the night of the Cabaret. This is vitally important as recently the club has struggled on there own at cabarets, this time we will just not be able to cope. Please please make a note in your diary and pop along to lend a hand.
- Pontoon Dinner - The date for the annual Pontoon dinner has been set – Saturday 14th March 2009. further details will be available in the next news letter
- Welcome – To new members Des Turner and Matt Holland hopefully it will be the first of many years in the club for them.
- In Memoriam – as I’m sure you are now all aware a couple days after helping the club with our stage props Philip ‘Mugsy’ Morgan sadly passed away. At his funeral the club was well represented and Chunk read a very moving eulogy. Hopefully our success on the road has served as a fitting tribute.

- Bars – the club has a couple of bars coming up in the next month or so, these are

31st October – Surprise 40th Birthday Party @ Enmore Village hall,

- T-shirts – all t-shirt order that were received by the specified time have been send off and I am hoping to receive the garments in time for the September Cabaret, if this is the case I will take them to the school with me and hand out on the night.
- Cart Building - a important few weeks are approaching, and any help is gratefully received. If you need details of times people are out the cart or would like some work to do at home, please contact Allan Elson.
- Congratulations – To Matthew and Stacey Knapp on the recent birth of their second daughter Blossom.
- Carnival & Squibbing – if you would like the chance to appear on cart (if situation requires) or if you would like to take part in the Squibbing display, please let either Windsor or Steve Wright know by Weds 24th Sept. if you would like to come to any of the carnivals, a traveling form is attached.

- Bars – the next bar is on Saturday 16th August 2008, Princess Hall Burnham on Sea. We will need extra help for this as this is the day of Adrian's wedding and a lot of people from the club are invited, if you can make it, please contact Wins
- Mastermind – The next quiz will be held on Friday 12th September 2008 at the Blake Arms Hotel, £8 a team, max 4 people per team. 8pm prompt start. Please make an effort to attend. Its easy money and a good fun night out.
- T-shirts – the t-shirt design has been voted on and we have send it off to the printers to get ready, forms are attached and all items are the same price as last year, all forms with payment need to be returned to Alan Windsor by Monday 25th August 2008 (download now word pdf)
- Cart Building - Building weekends are being held out the halfway on the weekend of 30th & 31st of August and 13th & 14th September, please come along and lend a hand. There is a lot of work to do and Allan will be glad to see you all. As well as this people are out there every Wednesday so if your at a loose end please pop out there
- Best Wishes – good luck to Adrian Horne in his upcoming marriage to Liz
- Keep fit – the Marketeers CC annual sponsored Bike Ride, is this year being held on Saturday 9th August. Please help us to raise money even if you can’t make it on the actual bike ride

- The Old Ball & Chain – As mentioned earlier Andy Vallender married his fiancée Estelle at the end of May in Sorrento, Italy congratulations to them both.
